Professional Learning Funding provided by Manitoba Education - Please provide details below
1)To date, how have you used the money your division received for K-8 teachers' LwICT professional learning in 2008-09 and 2009-10? Pine Creek has chosen to to continue to use the PD funding to purchase .25 LwICT coordinator time. This time is dedicated to supporting the use of ICT in the classroom. This model was chosen to meet the teachers where they live and as a consequence of difficulty in finding subs to do pullout sessions. As teachers have gained comfort with LwICT, we have gradually moved from coordinator support of teachers to classroom teachers working collaboratively to support each other's growth.
2) What professional learning is occurring now because of the extra funding that you previously not able to do?
Pine Creek has continued to support the PD model of direct classroom support of teachers to build capacity within the division. It has made the PD funds available for teacher release time and inservicing. Given budget constraints at the divisional level, this additional support would not be possible without the support of Manitoba Education.
3) Does your division have any strategies for ongoing professional learning (For example: Professional Learning Community - online, face-to-face, mentors, etc?)
Pine Creek is implementing a co teaching model across the curriculum. This model has LwICT infused into it. We are also beginning to use PLNs and PLCs within our division.
4) What successful strategies would you like to recommend to other divisions?
The natural model of gradual release of support from the coordinator mixed with co teaching and PLCs is a model that we feel will sustain LwICT in buildings as staff retirements and turnover have an effect on Pine Creek School Divison over the next five years.

7) When does the reporting occur?

8) What feedback have you received from parents regarding reporting of Literacy with ICT?
There has not been a huge amount of Parent feedback across the division. There have been questions on some definitions around LwICT and some parents have asked how How this is different from teaching computers. Most anecdotal comments have been positive.
9) In certain circumstances, a child may have more than one teacher. How would/do your teachers report on a child's literacy with ICT in this circumstance? Please discuss with your divisional team and record some possible strategies to address this issue. e
Changes to the reporting process in Pine Creek over the next couple of years will facilitate collaborative reporting on LwICT.
10) If there have been changes to your divisional statement of belief on reporting on LwICT, since last year, upload or insert the text below.
